SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS SUPPORTS THE ALLIANCE FOR MATERIALS
• SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS SIGNED UP THE MEMORANDUM PROMOTED BY THE EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR ADVANCED ENGINEERING MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES.
• THIS ALLIANCE WILL ENHANCE THE RESEARCH AND INNOVATION ON ADVANCED MATERIALS IN THE HORIZON EUROPE, TO GET CREDIBLE ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE EUROPEANS QUALITY OF LIFE.
Madrid, November 14, 2019. SUSTAINABLE INNOVATIONS EUROPE (SIE) has officially signed up the support letter for the Alliance for Materials(A4M), an initiative of the European Technology Platform for Advanced Engineering Materials and Technologies (EuMaT) willing to bring up together the main European organisations of the sector (industry, research and academia), to generate added value through joint actions.
Originally created by six European Technology Platforms (EuMaT, Suschem, Manufuture, FTC, ESTEP and SMR) together with the European Materials Research Society (EMRS) and the Federation of European Materials Societies (FEMS), and enlarged in a later stage to incorporate other material related stakeholders, A4M’s main objective is to enhance the research and innovation on advanced materials across Europe through integrating the different players of the value chain and supporting initiatives from different actors of the industry.
For this purpose, SIE is supporting EUMAT in promoting A4M to create materials visibility towards the European Commission services. In this sense, energy and transport have been identified as relevant sectors for the promotion of the A4M vision,supported by the Energy Materials Industrial Research Initiative (EMIRI) new RoadMap to reduce carbon footprint and with the aim to create synergy among the different actors involved in Materials for Energy R&D actions.
For their part, in the construction and healthcare sectors, the ETCP Platform and the European Technology Platform of Nanomedicine through the European NOBEL project, respectively, are working closely with EUMAT in reviewing their own roadmaps.
Once A4M has demonstrated its role as a fundamental enabler within the scenario of European materials R&D, the aim is to evolve towards an extended stable structure able to guarantee the long-term existence of its benefits.
